Most of what we paint in Jamaica Plain is Victorians and three-deckers. Ceilings first, then walls, then trim — working top down so drips land on unfinished surfaces. Cut lines get brushed before the roller comes anywhere near the wall, and we pull tape while the last coat is still slightly open so the film breaks clean instead of tearing.

The mistake we get called to fix

The usual failure is rolling a second coat too soon. The surface skins over while the underside is still wet, and a month later you get burnish marks wherever someone wipes the wall.
