Exterior Painting Across Greater Boston
Boston exteriors take a beating. Freeze-thaw cycles crack caulk and paint. Salt air from the coast gets into wood. Mildew grows on north-facing walls every winter. An exterior paint job that doesn't start with serious prep doesn't last. We've repainted colonials in Newton, three-deckers in Somerville, and Victorians in Brookline — every one starts with a full power wash and a close inspection of every surface.
Exterior Painting for Every Boston Home Type
Greater Boston has some of the most varied housing stock in the country. Victorians, colonials, triple-deckers, brick buildings, Cape Cods, ranch homes, modern condos — we've painted all of them. Each has its own prep requirements and product needs. We know what works on Brighton triple-deckers and what works on Wayland colonials.
- Single-family homes — colonials, Capes, ranches, Victorians
- Triple-deckers and multi-family buildings
- Condominiums and townhouses
- Commercial building exteriors
- Garages, sheds, and outbuildings
Our Exterior Painting Process
Step one is always a full pressure wash. Paint won't stick to mildew, dirt, or chalking old paint. We wash everything, let it dry completely, then go surface by surface — scraping loose paint, sanding rough spots, replacing rotted wood if needed, caulking every gap around windows, doors, and trim. Then primer. Then two finish coats.
Paint Products for New England Exteriors
Benjamin Moore Aura Exterior and Sherwin-Williams Duration are our primary exterior lines. Both are formulated for temperature extremes, humidity, and UV exposure — all things Boston weather delivers in abundance. Applied correctly over proper prep, these products last 8-12 years.
Lead Paint Protocol
Many Boston homes were built before 1978 and contain lead paint. The EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) Rule requires certified contractors to follow specific lead-safe work practices when disturbing lead paint in homes with children under 6 or pregnant women. We follow all RRP protocols and can provide documentation on request.
